Company Secretary Jayne Camm explains the reasoning behind making the move to Edgetech in time for the upgrade to their premises. “We purchased the For-El automatic IGU line with Super Spacer application capability in June 2010, and we had already decided to partner with Edgetech because of their great reputation. One of the main reasons Premier DGU decided to invest was in order to be ready for the increased demand for energy rated windows in time for the 2010 amends to Part L of the Building Regulations, which stated that new and replacement windows must be rated C or higher. The move to Super Spacer has certainly helped them achieve this, but it was not the product alone that held appeal. Understanding the difficulties for companies who may not have known where to begin in the ratings process, Edgetech worked hard to help fabricators and installers get ready for the October deadline, including their widely attended and free Journey to C workshops throughout the UK. Jayne explains: “It was useful for us to partner with a company that has such a good awareness within the market.”
