Following its recent investment in a 13,000sq ft new factory which will increase capacity by 400%, The Smashing Glass Company in Nottingham has announced its new automated machinery with Lisec Super Spacer applicator, has now been installed. Simon Ratcliffe, Sales Manager of The Smashing Glass Company explains: “We have embarked on a significant investment programme this year to increase our capacity and make sure we continue to provide our customers with the best and most innovative products available. We want to help our customers succeed in today’s market but also future proof them against the inevitable changes still to come. That is why we have invested in new premises with the space to incorporate a fully automated production line. In addition to the Super Spacer applicator which incorporates a fully automated sealing robot and gas press, we also now have a Lisec machine that includes a four station automatic float and laminate cutting table.

“We realise making such a large investment now is unusual in our industry, but we are confident in our offering and the benefits the new developments will give us and our customers. Offering our customers sealed units with Super Spacer inside means they benefit from the highest performing spacer on the market, as well as a whole host of marketing and sales support from Edgetech, manufacturers of the Super Spacer product. The new factory will also improve our productivity and reduce labour costs – all of which gives a growing ambitious company like ours a huge advantage over our competitors. We will be manufacturing Super Spacer units in our new manufacturing facility from 3rd January.”
