Edgetech, the only dedicated Warm Edge Technology manufacturer in the UK, has achieved record breaking sales results in the first quarter. Andy Jones, Managing Director of Edgetech explains: “Sales in the UK are up 42% compared with the same period last year. This is great news considering our current position in the market – it’s easy for start up companies or new suppliers to the UK to say they have grown by hundreds of per cent because hundreds of per cent of nothing isn’t too difficult to achieve. But to still be growing by 42% as an established company, and against the current market backdrop, is great news for us and our customers. A good proportion of this growth has come from the continuing trend of companies starting to offer energy efficient windows. But our existing customers are also growing and stealing a march on their competitors because they have access to all the marketing support they need to back up the energy efficient products they supply. We have also seen an increase in the demand from customers across Europe where we have also experienced record sales this quarter.

“It seems clear this trend for energy efficient windows will continue, especially with the announcement of the revisions to Building Regulations due very soon. If the proposals are passed, every single replacement window will need to have a ‘C’ rating with the British Fenestration Ratings Council. More companies are also aiming for higher ratings, to continue to differentiate themselves from the masses that will soon have a ‘C’ rating and to achieve Energy Saving Recommended status, which will soon require a ‘B’ rating as opposed to the ‘C’ rating is has asked for so far. Whatever happens with the Building Regulations, companies won’t be able to avoid energy rated windows for much longer.
