The much publicised Energy Saving Week, organised by the Energy Saving Trust, is next week (19th-25th October) which gives installers offering energy rated windows, an additional angle when selling in the home. “This year the general theme for the week is waste and on Tuesday its ‘Warmer Homes Day’, which is a day dedicated to raising awareness of the best ways to insulate our homes,” explains Alan Fielder, Director of Sales and Marketing at Edgetech. “With window installers adding more and more energy efficient home improvement products to their portfolio, they are increasingly becoming more than just installers, and are being seen as energy saving advisers. We are supporting our customers in this role, and raising awareness of this important event, by sending them top tips for energy saving that they can then use while selling in the home. Whether you believe in green or not, initiatives like this are encouraging homeowners to make the greener choice, so we need to be sure we can meet their higher expectations by educating ourselves to all the benefits of the various means of saving energy. This in turn allows us to better demonstrate the relative benefits of energy rated windows, giving our products even more credibility.”
