South-east based sealed unit manufacturer Glassline has been successfully trading for 13 years, having started out in a small factory producing 100 units per day. The company now has all its own cutting and toughening facilities and production currently stands at between 800 and 900 units a day.
The automated production line was installed four years ago, and when it came to selecting a warm edge partner, the sealed unit manufacturer had no hesitation in choosing Edgetech, a Quanex company. Michael Trewin, Sales Director at Glassline explains: “We took the decision to install the automated production line four years ago and it was obvious to us that Super Spacer was the way to go. It is a really good product and performs really well.”
So well in fact, that in the last 18 months, units featuring Super Spacer have encompassed some 80% of production, to the point that Glassline is on the verge of producing a unit using its millionth metre of the spacer system. Michael continues: “It’s not just the product, the overall package and facilities provided by Edgetech are excellent. As a long standing supplier we know that we can trust them, they are happy to talk to us, even two or three times a week if needed, and there is always consistency in who we speak to, which is reassuring.
“When we initially installed the automated lines it was before warm edge had become really big news to many people. We’ve been delighted with the results, particularly over the last 18 months, and Edgetech has been a constant from the initial installation right up to our millionth metre of Super Spacer.
