The Sash Window Workshop has worked with the supplier for over 13 years and explains the benefits of working with a WET supplier for the long term. “The Sash Window Workshop was an early adopter of WET as we started using Super Spacer over 13 years ago for the aesthetic benefits it offered our traditional timber windows,” says Richard Dollar, Managing Director of The Sash Window Workshop. “Whether our traditional box sash windows or sympathetic timber casements, Super Spacer looked so much better than the aluminium spacer bar that was the norm at the time. Its thermal efficiency properties were a great extra sales tool at the time but have obviously proved more and more valuable as the Building Regulations relating to energy efficiency have continued to tighten. That is why we now use Super Spacer in 100% of our sealed units.

“With the combination of technologies we use in our sealed units, including Planitherm glass, krypton gas and Super Spacer warm edge technology we have also been well positioned to achieve the necessary EN1279 standard. Thanks to the thermal efficiency properties Super Spacer offers us we have also been able to achieve an ‘A’ Window Energy Rating on our timber casement windows and our spiral balanced windows. Even our box sash windows, which currently have to have the whole box frame included in the equation, achieve a ‘C’ rating.
