While most glass companies are tightening their purse strings, The Smashing Glass Company based in Nottingham, has invested in new premises to increase capacity and house its new automated Super Spacer production line. Simon Ratcliffe, Sales Manager of The Smashing Glass Company explains: “We believe in providing our customers with the best and most innovative products available to help them succeed. That is why we are investing in a new facility that will include automated production and incorporate Super Spacer Warm Edge Technology into our sealed units. On completion as well as being able to offer our customers products that outperform the competition, the factory will improve production efficiency and reduce labour costs.

“We are producing around 300 units a day in our current factory and are operating at capacity so we knew we needed to expand. We’ve known Edgetech for years now and have always believed in the Super Spacer product so we’re excited to be incorporating it into our units. With the automated line we will improve productivity which in turn allows us to be even more competitive on behalf of our customers. We have always focussed on providing exceptional service to frame manufacturers and installers in the Midlands because we understand their needs, and enjoy long term trading relationships with some of the key players in our market.
